Less than 48 hours after his Grammy Awards disappointment, Justin Bieber got some sweet redemption at Tuesday night's Brit Awards. The annual kudos fest was held at London's O2 arena, and it featured a trophy for Bieber in the International Breakthrough Act category, as well as some additional hardware for one of Sunday night's biggest winners.

After taking home the Album of the Year honors at the Grammys, Arcade Fire continued their winning ways at the Brits, snagging a pair of trophies — which were crafted by designer Vivienne Westwood — for Best International Album and Best International Group.

"We're called Arcade Fire — check it out on Google," band leader Win Butler said in a nod to his group's search engine popularity in the wake of the Grammy surprise.

The Brits showed more love for their former colonies as Barbadian Rihanna took Best International Female Star, and American Cee Lo Green snagged Best International Male Solo Artist.

It was also a big night for British rapper Tinie Tempah, who was honored for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best Single for his tune "Pass Out." Tempah's album is slated for release in the U.S. in the spring.

As their debut continues to move back up the U.S. charts, Grammy performers Mumford & Sons won Best British Album for Sigh No More, while reunited British boy-now-man band Take That — which features singer Robbie Williams — were awarded Best British Group. Rising star Jessie J got the Critics' Choice prize and 21-year-old folk singer Laura Marling was named Best British Female.

Fresh off a pair of steamy performances at Sunday night's Grammy Awards, Rihanna is doubling down on her upcoming summer tour. In addition to adding 10 more dates to the Loud outing, the singer has also invited "F--- You" singer Cee Lo Green to join her for the tour, which is scheduled to begin on June 4 in Baltimore.

With the 10 additional dates announced on Wednesday (February 16), the North American Loud tour is now up to 17 shows, with promoter Live Nation promising that more stops could be added in the future. The added dates include stops in Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Houston, Dallas, Albuquerque and Boston. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale on Friday (February 18).

"I'm a huge fan of Cee Lo since his days with Goodie Mob and with Gnarls Barkley. He's a musical genius, continually reinventing himself, and I'm thrilled to have him join me on tour," said Rihanna in a statement announcing the new dates.

"I want to thank Rihanna for inviting me on our version of '50 First Dates,' only difference is she's unforgettable fine," Cee Lo added in the statement. "Don't tell her I have a crush on her, don't wanna mess everything up. But honestly it's an honor and a blessing to be able to go out with a talent such as hers and I look forward to doing my part to make the tour unforgettable for the fans that come out and see us."

The pair will have plenty to chat about on the road, as they both won Grammys on Sunday night, with Rihanna picking up Best Dance Record for "Only Girl in the World" and Green taking Best Urban/Alternative Performance for "Forget You." Both were also winners on Tuesday night at England's Brit Awards.

Rihanna recently premiered the bondage-themed clip for her latest single, "S&M," which spurred a lawsuit from fashion photographer David LaChapelle, who claimed that it was "directly derived" from his work.

Genius recommendations come to the iTunes mobile store

mobile Genius recommendationsGenius recommendations have now made it onto the mobile version of the iTunes Store. Though present in the desktop version of the store for a long while, recommendations had been notably absent from the iPhone and iPod touch experience.

To get to the Genius recommendations in the iTunes Store on your mobile device, tap on More once you've launched the iTunes app. You'll then see the new feature alongside the usual options. Genius recommendations work exactly like they do on the desktop. You can view recommendations based on your purchase history for music, movies, and TV shows (assuming your local iTunes Store sells them). You can preview recommendations, as well as rate them by using a 'thumbs up'/'thumbs down' system. Music recommendations can be filtered to show only songs, albums, or a specific genre.

As with the case of the addition of search filters to the iPad's App Store, there's absolutely nothing you need to do to get this new functionality onto your iDevice. The update happens at the back end, which means that the next time you open the iTunes app the Genius recommendations will just magically appear.

Kanye West May Join Rihanna At NBA All-Star Halftime Show

Yeezy is expected to make a surprise appearance at Sunday's game.

The talent roster at this weekend's NBA All-Star Game is starting to get out of control.

The Deadspin sports blog cited an unnamed "in-the-know-tipster" on Wednesday in reporting that Kanye West will "make a surprise appearance during Rihanna's halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday."

It's possible the two will perform the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy track "All of the Lights," which features Rihanna singing alongside 'Ye, Elton John, Fergie, Alicia Keys and more. It would make sense since that song is tipped to be the next single from West's album and a music video is reportedly in the works.

It's not like Yeezy hasn't expressed his love for the game before, including just recently, when he appeared in the Robert Rodriguez-directed short film promoting Kobe Bryant's new line of Nike shoes.

A representative for West had no comment when reached by MTV News to confirm the rumor, and reps for Rihanna and the NBA had not returned calls for comment at press time.

In addition to Rihanna, Lenny Kravitz has been tapped to play at the game, performing before the tip-off during player introductions. Josh Groban will sing the national anthem and Melanie Fiona will do the honors on the Canadian anthem, while the "What's My Name?" singer will provide the entertainment during the half.

On Saturday, during the All-Star Saturday Night show, Keri Hilson will sing the national anthem and Cee Lo Green will serve up some "Forget You" during the three-point shooting contest. The Sprite Slam Dunk contest will be preceded by Far East Movement, who'll perform their new single, "Rocketeer."

Friday night's entertainment will be provided by Cali Swag District, who will "Teach Me How to Dougie" during the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam, which, like all of the All-Star events, will be shown on TNT.

The NBA All-Star Game airs Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on TNT.

Microsoft and ReverbNation giving away 1,000 MP3s - and they don't all suck

I'll admit I felt a little dirty after visiting MySpace for the first time in years, but I had a good reason. There's an announcement up at www.myspace.com/Windows with some good news for free music fans.

In partnership with ReverbNation, they're giving away more than 1,000 free MP3 / M4A audio tracks. The goodies are all available at www.reverbnation.com/windows, and unlike a lot of massive audio giveaways there are plenty of good tracks to be had.

I was excited to find tracks from Skindred, Bif Naked, Fishbone, and Reverend Horton Heat (among others). While my taste in music might not jive with yours, don't fret - there's plenty to choose from. You can view the whole catalog or browse by genre - Alternative, Electronic/Dance, Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, Pop, and Rock.

I'm never one to argue with good, free music, even if it means having to visit MySpace once in a while. Want to stay in the loop? Add Windows as a friend on MySpace - or just check back every so often if you'd rather not blow the dust off your profile.

'Iron Man 3' May Tap Shane Black As Director

Veteran screenwriter could take over franchise from departed Jon Favreau.
By Eric Ditzian

One week after news first broke that Shane Black was a top candidate to helm "Iron Man 3" in the wake of Jon Favreau's departure from the franchise, another report suggests the director is now in final negotiations to win the job.

Deadline reports that Black is essentially set to direct Robert Downey Jr. in the third "Iron Man" flick but that it's unclear whether he'll also pen the script. "That's not figured out," an unnamed source told the website.

A rep handling the film declined to comment, while Black's rep hadn't returned MTV News' requests for comment by press time.

Black only has one directorial credit on his résumé, but it's a potent one: He helmed 2005's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," in which Downey starred and during which the two were said to strike up a close creative partnership.

Previously, Black was said to be in contention with other filmmakers also being eyed for the gig. What's more, it was reported that he'd also get a shot to pen a draft of the script. But according to Deadline, the screenwriting portion of Black's deal has not yet been hammered out.

Black, after all, is primarily known for his talents as a screenwriter. In the mid-'80s, he penned the script for "Lethal Weapon" and went on to write "The Last Boy Scout" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight," among other scripts. He's recently been hired to write "Death Note," an adaptation of a manga series, and a film based on the Doc Savage pulp novels.

Check out everything we've got on "Iron Man 2."

50 Cent To Star In Crime Drama 'Freelancers'

Movie will reportedly be directed by Jessy Terrero ('Soul Plane').
By Aly Semigran

Like many before him, 50 Cent is making the transition from hip-hop to Hollywood. The rapper, who has a finger in various projects — from his own film-production company, called Cheetah Vision Films, to distributing a line of earphones — has signed on for yet another movie role.

According to Variety, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will star in an upcoming crime drama called "Freelancers," in which he'll play the son of a murdered New York City police officer who joins the force and finds himself "on a team of rogue Gotham cops."

The movie will reportedly be directed by Jessy Terrero ("Soul Plane"), who has previously worked with 50 on some of his most-memorable videos such as the MTV Video Music Award-nominated "Candy Shop."

The latest news is just another step in 50 Cent's plan to move from music to movies. Making his big-screen debut in 2005's "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," the star shocked fans a few years later when he tweeted a picture of himself looking frighteningly thin in preparation for his role in his passion project "Things Fall Apart."

In fact, the 35-year-old seems to be continuing to take his craft very seriously. When MTV News caught up with him at this year's Sundance Film Festival — which he attended alongside his friend, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., to promote their newly launched film company, Mayweather Productions — 50 seemed as ambitious as ever.

He not only said he feels as though he's "growing" as an actor, but also that he hopes to have a career akin to trailblazing Oscar-winner Sidney Poitier. As 50 put it, "Shoot for the stars if you would do that."

Does 50 Cent have the acting chops to make it in Hollywood? Sound off below!

Facebook gives your info to advertisers, gets caught in the act, promises to stop

If you thought people were overreacting to the privacy issues with Facebook, think again. No less an outfit than The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Facebook, MySpace, and others were caught releasing user data to advertisers.

Facebook was giving away enough info that advertisers could identify your individual account and see which ads you'd clicked on. The companies receiving this data included major ad networks like Google-owned DoubleClick and Yahoo!-owned Right Media.

I write this all in the past tense, because Facebook has agreed to stop leaking this data in the wake of the Journal's report. As for the data that's already leaked, DoubleClick and Right Media have both said they didn't know they could access the data in question, and hadn't been using it.

Part of the problem is that Facebook and MySpace don't do anything to obscure your name or ID number in your profile URL, so that information is passed through to advertisers when you click. Closing that loophole seems like a simple (and important) security fix.

Fact or fiction: Composting

According to a 2003 study, the average American household throws away 470 pounds of food waste every year. Pretty scary.

Composting is an obvious way to cut down on this waste, but there are a lot of misconceptions about it. Sure, it's the responsible thing to do, but isn't it complicated and involve a lot of hard labor? Doesn't it stink up your yard? Take our quiz and find out.

Window Expander for Chrome lets you view YouTube videos in near-full screen without hacking Flash

windowexpander
These days, you no longer have to be an esoteric nerd to sport a dual-monitor setup. Heck, many of us use three monitors, and some have been known to use entire walls. Now, when you have such a setup and try to watch a YouTube video in full-screen, you quickly discover an irritating fact: While you're watching a video in full-screen on one monitor, any click on another monitor collapses the video back to its tiny windowed size.

There are ways to get around this by replacing specific Flash DLLs with tweaked versions, but really, who wants to mess with system files like this? Window Expander for Chrome is a far less invasive solution. It adds a button to Chrome's Omnibar which you can click to display a full-screen window with the video you're currently watching. Since Chrome has so little, well, chrome, it's the next best thing to full-screen. Window Expander is simple, and it works. Go give it a try!
